If you’re thinking that the drama and intensity on Season 2 of X Company was going to take a break this week, think again. Following an emotional week for Aurora (Evelyne Brochu) that saw her have to make a difficult decision regarding René’s (François Arnaud) life, the team is back to work trying to build up their forces since the invasion at Dieppe is less than four weeks away. Meanwhile, on the other side of the lines, Franz Faber (Torben Liebrecht) is dealing with the repercussions of Forst’s (Julian Michael Deuster) demise and what he did to his son.
As if that wasn’t enough, Alfred (Jack Laskey) makes a surprise move this week in “Last Man, Last Round,” written by Sandra Chwialkowska and directed by Andy Mikita. Will the team be able to help him and how are they going to build enough of an army to help carry out their plans before Dieppe? We’ve got a few hints about what you can expect before the new episode airs on Wednesday night.
An Army Must Be Built
You know that old saying “beggars can’t be choosers?” Well it somewhat applies this week when Neil, Harry and Alfred find themselves at a German POW Camp looking to build up their army. Obviously, their first choice to do this would not be people who have been POWs for a couple years now, but their options are pretty limited at the moment. Oh and another small problem, how will they get these prisoners free from the work camps?
Alfred’s fiiiiinnnne … promise!
I think we can all agree that in just three episodes this season Alfred has been through quite a lot. However, he’s not ready to just sit by and relax until he feels better. As the team comes up with a plan to rescue some of the prisoners for their army, Alfred gets irritated with Aurora when she tries to tell him he should take it easy. He swears he’s fine and she just may have to relent after he keeps insisting that all is good.
Faber is a target
… or at least that’s what his wife believes. Notice of Forst officially being laid to rest this week comes to the Faber household and it upsets Mrs. Faber (Livia Matthes) a great deal. She’s worried that her husband may be the next one not to come home at night–which let’s face it, with this show I think we can all agree her fears are pretty justified. It’s quite a change though to see these two having a real conversation after she’s pretty much been giving Franz the ol’ silent treatment so far this season.
It’s all about teamwork
After their reunion last week, Tom (Dustin Milligan) and Krystina (Lara Jean Chorostecki) are still enjoying one another’s company. They are even collaborating on a bit of a special project and having a good laugh in the process. Of course no one can stay happy for long on X Company and Tom has some surprising news to share with Krystina.
Oh Aurora, she’s fine too!
It’d also be completely understandable if Aurora isn’t feeling up to par this week either–especially given what she had to do last week with René. However, just like Alfred, she’s insistent on the fact that it’s not affecting her mood or her work. Thankfully, Neil isn’t buying it and realizes that she’s feeling super guilty, which leads to a nice moment of understanding between the pair.
