While U.S. television fans may have been eagerly anticipating Friday, April 1 as the debut of the new Syfy series Wynonna Earp for a little over a month now, there hasn’t been an official confirmation on the show’s Canadian debut–until now. The TV Junkies have been informed that the series, based on Beau Smith’s comic, will premiere on Monday, April 4 at 9 p.m. ET on CHCH.
There’s also some good news for fans in western Canada and parts of the country that don’t get CHCH. The network will stream episodes live on its website simultaneously with the Syfy and CHCH broadcasts. That means fans can watch the live stream on Friday at 10 p.m. EST with the Syfy broadcast, and then it’ll be available again on Monday at 9 p.m. EST with the CHCH broadcast.
The 13 episode first season will follow Wyatt Earp’s great graddaughter Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano), as she battles demons and other suprenatural beings. With showrunner and executive producer Emily Andras (Lost Girl) at the helm, Wynonna promises to have plenty of snark and wit as it follows this modern day gunslinger who uses her unique abilities to bring the paranormal to justice.
Rounding out the cast is Tim Rozon (Schitt’s Creek, Instant Star) as legendary con artist Doc Holliday, and Shamier Anderson (Defiance, Constantine) who plays the mysterious Agent Dolls.
