– The TV Junkies
Site looks wonderful – can’t wait to keep checking back for updates along the way!
I’m happy to see this site. After I found out about the unfortunate demise of the editorial at TVGuide.ca, I was doing a google search for info and happened upon Amber Dowling’s twitter feed with a link to this page. I’m a tv junkie myself and I visit a few American sites on a regular basis but for my Canadian fix I always went to TV Eh and TV Guide Canada. So happy to have a replacement.
Love! Go Amber!
Best of luck! With your collective depth of knowledge, you should be flying in no time!
Nice. Good to see this!
Looks exciting … cant wait to see the site grow ๐
Talk about a tasty website – Even I’d serve this dish ๐
Glad I found your new home. I hope we see you and many of the other staff we enjoyed over at “the other site” I hope you are allowed to bring some of the great features over to this site. Good luck and you’re now in my bookmarks!
So happy to find you and I look forward to updates! Sorry to see all the content gone on TV Guide BUT very glad to see you here. Great site!
Love the new site Amber! This was such a great idea!
Amber, I found you. Looking forward to the best person who gives us TV news for Canadians. Found your Twitter feed with the info. Awesome! Hope you keep a similar format to your weekly editorial.
So glad I complained to TVGuide (The Loop) and they gave me your new website!! I need my Monday Ask Amber “fix” and I check daily for comments on TV shows that I watch! The Loop now has health and beauty and celeb news which I don’t want to read about. I am a TV Junkie – so hurrah for your new website!!!
Good for you – getting out on your own!! Do you plan to include your “Ask Amber” series on this site? It would be a shame to miss out…If there’s anything we can do to get the word out that you’re off TV Guide and here, let all of us know and we’ll be happy to jump on it!
Site looks great – bookmarked!
What a great site, can’t wait to see more!
This is just:
Great!
Wonderful!
Super!
Excellent
Stupendous!
…
You get the point.
I am very pleased after The Loop just deletes you with no sign and I find myself lost without a proper CAnadian TV website.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Great to see you back on the web, Amber; as well as all your fellow scribes. You may or may not have an “Ask Amber” column, but I will still have to send some questions when they come. You are, after all, the TV Guru in Canada!
I am very grateful to have your new site (a fluke). I can not believe that BCE did not offer you a position to run the TV section on the LOOP. A major mistake on their part – maybe they will come to their senses and provide a direct to TV Junkies and scrap their feeble attempt at Canadian TV reviews (criticism). Congratulations on an excellent start with your new endeavour!
So is there going to be a Q&A, Queries (amid) Amber section sometime? Love the new site anyway!
Oh, and thanks for bringing back comments, I REALLY missed that after the TVG site redesign a few years ago.
It’s Monday and i am missing my Ask Amber column! Also how about comments on new shows, Reckless, Murder in the First, Taxi Brooklyn, and return of Big Brother? Ps judgement is spelled judgment!!
Congratulations on your new site! Have always hated The Loop, only reason I went on it was to read Ask Amber every Monday. Hope there will be a similar column eventually on this site. Will keep checking back to find out.
Goodbye the Loop, hello TV junkies. Great to see Amber back in the TV comment game, I miss you!!! When is ask Amber coming back? Looking forward to more content and TV listings . Good Luck TV Junkies!
I’m glad to see that you have some advertisements on your site. I was afraid it wouldn’t be possible to fund the site without them. Thanks for a great site!
Great site…any news on “Ask Amber” and any opportunity for weekly Q&A?
So glad I found this site. I thought it was my browser or stupidity that prevented me from accessing my daily checks I’v tvguide then I came to find out it was shut down. Glad you guys have a new home and can’t wait to see the site as it evolves and the fall tv season gets underway!

You can send us an email at thetvjunkiesdotcom@gmail.com.
What’s happened to Amber Dowling here? She hasn’t done an article on the site in a month and a Ask Amber in more than a month? just curious?
Amber is definitely still a part of the site and still our Editor in Chief. You can also catch her on her new podcast, Remotely Girly, here: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/podcast/remotelygirlys-podcast/id1021250736
Still miss Ask Amber on Mondays! There I could ask questions about what I watch. All your comments and reviews are about horror, scary and sci-fi stuff that I don’t watch, some I have never even heard of! Amber recommended Wayward Pines, which sure got scary, but still interesting (I have to tape it and watch during day)
This site gets better and better. I’ve been an avid reader since the TVGuide days and everything about this site provides all the strengths of that site with all the independence you now have not being part of a larger company. Congratulations on your year old ste and here’s to many more!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much John! Glad you are enjoying it and we appreciate you reading!
No more Ask Amber?
Is Amber Dowling still with The TV Junkies? Haven’t seen any articles by her in ages.
She is definitely here at the site and is our Editor in Chief. Look for some interviews from her coming up before the fall season and give a listen to her on her new podcast, Remotely Girly!
What’s happening, if anything, with Ask Amber? Read on your site earlier that it was on hiatus for the summer & would be returning in the Fall. It’s been Fall for a while & still no Ask Amber. Really miss it.
Will “The Last Kingdom” be aired on Canadian TV?
Sorry, not to our knowledge as of yet.
Still waiting for Ask Amber column! Also, as i have said before, your articles are mostly about horror and sci-fi shows. I am enjoying new shows like Quantico, Blindspot and Limitless. Also enjoying Once Upon a Time, Elementary, Scandal and How to Commit Murder. Any of your writers watching these shows?
Lots of us have been asking about Ask Amber, but no one ever gives us an answer. If it is not coming back, please just let us know instead of ignoring us. The courtesy of an answer, even if it is not want we want to hear, would be much appreciated. Tks.
We weren’t purposely ignoring anyone. At the time the other questions were asked Amber was still very much a part of the site but behind the scenes. I didn’t want to answer for her.
She has taken a step back now and is focusing on her other responsibilities, including her role as TCA President. So unfortunately, Ask Amber has been discontinued. We do however, hope you’ll still come to the site for coverage on some of your favorite US and Canadian television shows.
Am extremely disappointed that Ask Amber has been discontinued, but appreciate & thank you for your reply.
She’s a busy lady! ๐ You can catch her weekly as part of the Remotely Girly podcast though!
Any other Canadian/US tv questions you can always ask here or tweet us @TheTVJunkies!
Since Amber Dowling is no longer with the TV Junkies, how about an “Ask Bridget” column? I think people like having somewhere to ask their TV questions & have them answered. I know I do. There’s nowhere else to go for answers.
I appreciate the interest, but there’s no plans for that at the time being (plus it’d be VERY hard to replace Amber!). Please feel free to post questions to us by tweeting them to us @TheTVJunkies or you can post them to our Facebook page and we’ll do our best to answer them for you there.
Thanks again for showing so much interest in the site. We appreciate it!
I really enjoy your site, can u tell me if you will be puttin up photos from episode 10/11 of Saving Hope?
Thanks
