Fall TV Preview: What’s New in Genre TV
|With a new fall television season about to begin, there’s your usual insane amount of new law, medical and procedural shows headed our way. So, what’s a genre-loving TV Junkie to do?
Never fear friends, we’ve compiled a list of some of the more fantastical new television shows coming this fall/winter. Some you’re probably already aware of, while others might come as a pleasant surprise. We’re not just talking broadcast network shows either, but streaming goodies from Netflix, Hulu, DC and Disney’s Direct to Consumer services as well.
There’s everything from intriguing supernatural thrillers to superhero shows. Our TV future looks bright and we’re very excited!
So go ahead and take a few moments to check out our picks for the coolest upcoming genre shows:
Well, what do you think? Are there at least two or three shows already on your Must-See list? Did we miss a new show you’re excited about? Drop us a line in the comments and let us know.
“Star Wars: Resistance” might be fun. I’d love to see another season of Lego Star Wars too!
I’ll most likely watch “Dr. Who” because of Jodie; I do wish they’d have Jenny and Vastra pop in again this season!
Ugh the promotion for the remake of “Charmed” has basically killed this series to me; they’ve been too dismissive of the original series while the actresses admit they haven’t even seen it – it’s just a mess. Their whitelighter kidnaps them in the promo – NO! Another actor acts like it’s the first time a POC has been in the series as a lead which WRONG. I will rage watch the pilot because while Mel has Piper’s powers basically I feel she’s the Prue, Macy is their Paige clearly and Maggie is Phoebe, and has been one of the only good things about the new take I can see. I think they’ve hurt this one too much before it even started to really have it do well; even if it gets a season two to try and push it I can’t see it having the numbers of the original.
If I had Netflix I might watch Sabrina.
“Tell Me A Story” sounds kind of like the comic book series “Fables”.
The only one you named that really screams “WATCH ME” is Tell Me a Story but I don’t know how to access it as a Canadian. The Sabrina one has potential but I have yet to see a preview.
You missed mentioning the genre show I’m most looking forward to called the Passage.
The Vampire Diaries universe used to be a favourite to watch but I’m still angry about the death of a particular characted in the final season of The Originals so I’m not sure if I’ll check out Legacies.
