Amber Dowling
Amber Dowling is a bonafide TV Junkies member, critic and freelance writer who watches countless shows and lives for dramatic (fictional!) twists. She currently serves as the vice-president of the Television Critics Association and has appeared on numerous TV and radio shows across North America. An advocate for Canadian Television and a lover of the medium in general, Amber founded TheTVJunkies.com as a spot for fellow enthusiasts to connect and collaborate. She previously spent almost eight years as the EIC for TV Guide Canada. Twitter: @amber_dowling
Bridget Liszewski
Editor in Chief Bridget Liszewski comes from a long line of TV Junkies who fostered her love of television from a very young age. She’s channeled that passion into covering both US and Canadian television shows, and is thankful everyday for the invention of the DVR. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, she loves college football and is a fan of sports in general. Bridget is always up for talking TV and you can follow her on twitter at @BridgetOnTV.
Caralynn Lippo
Caralynn’s TV addiction began at a young age, watching General Hospital with her equally TV-addicted mom, and Soap with her dad and brother. From there, she became hooked on shows like Charmed, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Veronica Mars. And now, thanks to the advent of the miracle that is Netflix, she regularly binge watches many of those old shows with her fiancé. A few of her favorite currently airing addictions are iZombie, Penny Dreadful, Orphan Black, Arrow, Once Upon a Time and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. As a devout Whedonite, Caralynn will watch anything and everything that Joss Whedon puts his hands on. When she’s not glued to the screen, she’s going on about it in person and online. Follow her on Twitter to catch her real-time reactions @CaraLynn_Marie.
Christy Spratlin
Christy is a self proclaimed and proud TV Junkie. Her love for TV began at an early age with shows like Degrassi, Alias, ER, Buffy, The X-Files & Friends. You can now find her watching, ok obsessing over, shows like Castle, Saving Hope, Arrow, Rookie Blue, Parenthood, The Mindy Project and many many others. You can catch Christy on Twitter at @ChristySpratlin where she will likely be live tweeting her favorite shows and talking about everything TV.
Denette Wilford
Denette has been a TV Junkies member for decades, since escaping the womb and watching the entire ABC soaps lineup that her mom recorded on their trusty Betamax. She freelances in the worlds of celebrity gossip, movies, love, sex and parenting — but TV is where her heart lies. Her tastes vary between The Walking Dead, The Goldbergs, The Good Wife, Scandal and Dancing With the Stars. Don’t judge her. Twitter: @DenetteWilford
Eleni Armenakis
Eleni Armenakis became a TV Junkie early on by watching Discovery obsessively as a child. A year away from home got her hooked on all things Canadian television (Republic of Doyle, oh yeah!) to go with her not-so-secret love of the historical and supernatural. In her non-TV time, she can be found writing music reviews, watching movies or hanging out on Twitter: @eleniarmenakis.
Hermione Wilson
Hermione Wilson is a Junkie when it comes to all things Orphan Black, Game of Thrones and Supernatural, the show that introduced her to classic rock. She is a graduate of Humber College’s journalism program, a current staff writer at Dovetail Communications, and an avid reader of sci-fi novels. Twitter: @hdalewilson
Joan Porter
A recently transplanted Canadian in La-la Land, Joan is a pop culture Junkie, punctuation enthusiast and unabashed 1D fan. When she’s not mixing up a cocktail and binging old episodes of Roswell or Parenthood on Netflix, you’ll find her offering unsolicited TV opinions to anyone on the street. In 2014, she rejoiced at the return of Alex Trebek’s moustache on Jeopardy! Twitter: @cjoanporter
Kelly Townsend
Associate Editor Kelly is a Junkie for all things superhero, going back to her days watching X-Men and Spider-Man cartoons on Saturday morning. Nowadays her TV time is spent watching Arrow, The Flash and Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD. She is a graduate from Humber College’s journalism program and has written for Canadian Family, Geeky News and Tribute.ca. You can follow her on Twitter @kellybtownsend.
Linda Fitzpatrick
Linda absolutely loves to write and hopes to be a screenwriter one day! TV has become a passion and she is currently watching The Fosters, Pretty Little Liars, Chicago P.D. and Friday Night Lights (to name a few, the list could go on for a while). Some of her all time favorites are One Tree Hill and Friends. Other hobbies include baking, photography, and singing in an a cappella group. Follow Linda on twitter: @LindyFitzy
Megan Haas
It began with Gilmore Girls. That series jump started my complicated relationship with television, sitting on the couch having mini heart-attacks throughout the hour. Now, with many series under my “fangirl” belt, she continues to submerge herself in the world of detectives, parallel universes, mythical creatures, and medical jargon. Television taught her everything, from how to survive on an island to how to get away with murder. Writing is a secret passion that was only discovered when she tried to convey my television “feels” all over the internet. Now, she does it daily. Catch her on Twitter at @meggh11
Ryan Scriver
Ryan Scriver has been a TV Junkie since he was eight years old, when TV Guide informed him he could watch The Simpsons six times per day. (Much to the delight of his mother.) His current faves include Hannibal, Boardwalk Empire, Arrow and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Ryan has a nostalgic love for everything pop-culture, and has seen every season of Survivor at least three times. When not taking in new television Ryan can usually be found rewatching his favourite series past including, Star Trek: TNG, Red Dwarf and The Twilight Zone.
Samantha Sobolewski
Samantha Sobolewski has been a TV Junkie since learning to count with The Count on Sesame Street. Since then she’s graduated her TV tastes to the likes of such shows as Sons of Anarchy, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, The Newsroom, New Girl and Pretty Little Liars. You can find her freelance writing, sitting in the nosebleeds at a Raptors game, binge-watching The West Wing or on Twitter: @samsobolewski
Whatever happened to reporting on my favourite shows – someone used to do it? Ryan Porter’s favourite superhero is Annelise Keating – that’s How to Get Away with Murder – how about episode comments? Also Castle, Elementary, NCIS, Grimm, Limitless, Survivor, Scandal, Scorpion, etc. etc. All you ever write about is mostly horror and sci-fi!

Hi, I’d like to know to who I could send news articles/press releases when we have some related to Canadian TV. Ideally, it would be by email as we usually include photos. Thanks.
thetvjunkiesdotcom@gmail.com is our general email address. Thanks!
Hello TV Junkies! I’ve been a long time reader who especially adore your recaps for Killjoys, my favorite show! I recently found another favored called Warrior on HBO Max! Based on an original idea by Bruce Lee and produced by his daughter! Telling the often ignored stories of Chinese immigrants in 1800s San Francisco! It’s an incredible mix of martial arts, drama, and representation! I highly recommend it to the TV Junkies team!
Thanks for reading our stuff, NL! We appreciate that and you recommending Warrior. I have seen the first season of it on HBO Max, and you’re right, it’s great. Can’t wait to see what they do in Season 2 and am happy it’s coming back for even more. Thank you for thinking of us!
Awesome, thanks for replying! Glad that you also love Warrior, you guys seem to have pretty great taste in TV haha. Have you ever considered writing a feature about it? It would be great to hear your thoughts and I don’t have any social media 🙁 Are you gonna watch season 2 soon, because it gets even better!
