Cowboys star's wife died tragically

The Dallas Cowboys announced on Monday night that Janet Hill, the widow of former running back and current club consultant Calvin Hill, had gone away.

"We are deeply grieved to hear about Janet Hill's demise. She was a great grandma, mother, wife, and a treasured part of the Dallas Cowboys Family, "The Cowboys stated in a press release.

In addition to being a tremendous leader and role model for many, Janet left an everlasting effect on those she met and worked with.

Throughout her extraordinary life, she served and helped our community and country in distinctive ways.

Janet and Calvin were both highly active in their respective areas. They are the former NBA great Grant Hill's parents.

Since Calvin Hilly was an All-Pro player for the Dallas Cowboys from 1969 to 1974, the Hilly family has always been well-liked in Dallas, especially since he played for the Cowboys from 1969 to 1974.

Janet Hill's cause of death has not been confirmed.

The Cowboys may recognize Hill during the preseason or the regular season.

At this time, our thoughts are with the Hill family.
