Rookie Blue actress Enuka Okuma (Traci Nash) has been cast opposite Lost alum Terry O’Quinn in the The Adversaries, a dramaordered by ABC for the 2015-2016 pilot season. The show, which also co-stars Christine Lahti, will center on the patriarch of a New York legal dynasty, Charles Fisher (played by O’Quinn), who becomes embroiled in a trial of his own, causing his federal prosecutor daughter to decide which side she will fight on.
Okuma will play an attorney at Fisher’s firm and rounding out the rest of the cast is Lenny Platt (One Life to Live), Kristen Hager (Being Human), and Christine Evangelista (Chicago Fire). O’Quinn’s Charlie is estranged from both his oldest daughter, Jess, and wife Katherine who feel he is at least partially at fault for the downward spiral and eventual death of son Kyle. Charlie is arrested and Katherine convinces Jess to lead up his defense. In the process Charlie’s extra-marital affair and financial woes are discovered and cause embarrassment for the family.
What will this mean for Okuma and Rookie Blue’s fate? Does this seal the deal on the upcoming sixth season being the show’s last? Or can it go on without the actress and Traci Nash? With nothing new to report about rumoured new showrunner Sherry White (Orphan Black), we can only keep our fingers crossed and hope there’s something to report on soon.
