Global Unveils 2019-2020 Primetime Lineup

A total of 12 new series will join the 2019-20 lineup of television for Global, the Canadian network announced on Thursday morning. The new series include eight new primetime series, one new daytime talk show, one new late-night series, and a comedy taking its final bow on Global.

“Global is firing on all cylinders to deliver Canadians the year’s most dynamic offering of premium content on network television,” said Daniel Eves, Senior Vice President of TV Networks, Corus Entertainment. “Together and with our studio partners, we’ve built a powerful schedule of established hits and new series with diverse themes, plots, and characters.”

Global will combine seven new primetime series with 15 returning hits this fall. The roster of new stars headlining the schedule include:

  • Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex) and Tom Payne (The Walking Dead) in new crime thriller Prodigal Son
  • Ed O’Neill (Married… with Children), Sofía Vergara (Hot Pursuit,) and Julie Bowen (Tangled: The Series) in the final season of the Golden Globe® winning series Modern Family
  • Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl) and Taran Killam (Saturday Night Live) in the sophomore season of comedy Single Parents
  • Walton Goggins (Justified) in new single-camera comedy The Unicorn
  • Three-time EMMY®  Award winner Patricia Heaton (The Middle) and Canadians Jean-Luc Bilodeau (Baby Daddy) and Sabrina Jalees (Baroness Von Sketch Show) along with Ito Aghayere (The Blacklist) and Kyle MacLachlan (Portlandia) in new sitcom Carol’s Second Act
  • Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip) as host of the new revival of Kids Say the Darndest Things
  • Katja Herbers (Westworld) and Mike Colter (Luke Cage) in psychological mystery Evil
  • Canadian digital sensation Lilly Singh in new late-night show A Little Late with Lilly Singh
  • Tamron Hall (Today) as host of her very own new daytime talk show Tamron Hall
