Make no mistake about it, the show may be called Dietland, but AMC’s new drama series is about anything but that. It’s about fighting back against the patriarchy, unrealistic beauty standards and many other issues faced by women these days. From Marti Noxon (Mad Men, UnREAL) and starring Golden Globe® and Emmy® Award-winner Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife) and Joy Nash (The Mindy Project, Twin Peaks), Dietland will premiere with back-to-back episodes on Monday, June 4 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
In Dietland, Nash plays Plum Kettle, a ghost-writer for the editor (Margulies) of one of New York’s hottest fashion magazines. Plum struggles with self-image and is fed up with how she’s treated by her boss and society and sets out on a wildly complicated road to self-awakening. In a new clip of the series, which can be seen below, Plum talks with her best friend, Steven (Tramell Tillman), about the “anti-diet diet.”
