Well it looks as though there will be at least one significant change between the BBC America drama Broadchurch and its American remake on Fox, Gracepoint. And that is a second season.
While Broadchurch’s second season will premiere on Feb. 4, Fox has cancelled Gracepoint after just one season on the air. David Tennant may have starred in both dramas, but the American version, which also co-starred Breaking Bad alum Anna Gunn, never found the success of the British original. The numbers on Gracepoint have been poor all season and fell to only four million viewers and a 0.9 demo rating for last week’s finale.
Our recommendation for fans who are sorry to see Gracepoint come to an end? Check out the far superior Broadchurch’s second season. Tennant will return in his role as Det. Alec Hardy, alongside other familiar faces such as Olivia Colman’s Det. Ellie Miller.
Here’s a look at Season 2 of Broadchurch:
Broadchurch returns Feb. 4 on BBC America at 10 p.m. ET and even earlier in Canada on Sunday, Jan. 11 at 10 p.m. ET on Showcase.
