Canadian upfront week continued as CTV announced its primetime schedule for 2018-19 on Thursday morning. It’s a lineup that returns the most Top 20 hits of any schedule in North America to go along with some new series including The Rookie and Magnum P.I.“Incredible stories are what captivates viewers and makes television infinitely compelling,” said Mike Cosentino, President, Content and Programming, Bell Media. “Our new schedules are jam-packed with new and returning series that embrace powerful storytelling and unforgettable characters. Along with live-in-the-moment specials and can’t-miss TV events, more than ever, CTV truly has something for everyone this season.”
Other new series joining CTV this fall will be the retro comedy The Kids are Alright, the dramedy God Friended Me and new talk show The Alec Baldwin Show. The second season of medical drama The Resident also joins the fall schedule.
At midseason, five new dramas will join the schedule — The Enemy Within, The Fix, The Red Line, The Village and Grand Hotel — along with dramedy series Whiskey Cavalier. A new CTV original comedy called JANN also joins the mix at midseason and stars Canadian icon Jann Arden. Number one Canadian drama Cardinal will also return for a fourth season.
