CBC announced on Thursday premiere dates for its winter 2020 new and returning Canadian series. The winter schedule will kick off Sunday, January 5 with each series available on CBC and the free CBC Gem streaming service.
The popular Tuesday night comedy lineup returns with Season 4 of Kim’s Convenience at 8 p.m. and the sixth and final season of Schitt’s Creek at 9 p.m. starting Tuesday, January 7. Workin’ Moms will then return for a fourth season on Tuesday, February 18 at 9:30 p.m.
For drama lovers, last season’s most-watched new Canadian series Coroner, starring Serinda Swan, returns for Season 2 on Monday, January 6 at 9 p.m. Burden of Truth will return for Season 3 on Wednesday, January 8 at 8 p.m., and the Canadian true crime series The Detectives returns of Season 3 on Thursday, January 9 at 9 p.m. Halifax legal aid drama Diggstown will then return on Wednesday, March 4 at 8 p.m.
New drama series Fortunate Son, starring Kari Matchett (Covert Affairs), Darren Mann (Giant Little Ones) and Stephen Moyer (True Blood), set in the social and political chaos of 1968 will debut Wednesday, January 8 at 9 p.m. Another new series is the Gerry Dee hosted Family Feud Canada. The game show will run four nights a week, beginning Monday, December 16 at a special time of 8 p.m., before moving to its regular 7:30 p.m. time slot on Monday, December 23.
