If Dr. Temperance Brennan joined Twitter would you follow her? That’s the question Bones fans will be asking themselves during Thursday’s episode, “The Teacher in the Books.” Brennan tries her hand at social media, while she and Booth head back to school as they investigate the murder of a teacher.
The episode features Jessica Warren (guest star Laura Spencer) as the squintern of the week, who gives the good doctor a lesson or two on how to tweet. We’ve got 6 hints that we want to share about what to expect from the episode.
Brennan joins Twitter
As we stated above, Dr. B is now on Twitter thanks to her publisher who would like her to use the network as an opportunity to connect with fans. Count us here at The TV Junkies in! We are totally planning on following her, even if her tweets are a little rough around the edges at first. But we all know Temperance Brennan, she excels at everything she does, and with the help of Miss Warren she soon finds her way and learns the basic rules for tweeting. While Brennan’s “tweet game” improves significantly as the episode goes on, we’re still going to side with Booth — her hashtagging needs some improvement. #WhimisicallyAmusing isn’t going to earn her followers any time soon.
Caroline is back and with an invested interest
The fight for a decent education hits close to home for Caroline and is one that she can relate to on a very personal level. If you’re a fan of the prosecutor, then this is a great episode for you. She and Booth also have a couple of great scenes together that showcase the respect and love between their characters.
Aubrey teases “Detective Andy”
Aubrey delves a bit into Booth and Brennan’s past and realizes that Detective Andy from Brennan’s novels is modeled off of Booth. He starts asking questions about Booth and Brennan’s relationship in a roundabout, but also very funny way, before Booth quickly shuts things down.
David Boreanaz goes toe to toe with another vampire
While Boreanaz notoriously played the vampire Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, he’ll face off against another vampire during the case. One of the suspects this week is played by Nathaniel Buzolic, who plays Kol on The Vampire Diaries and The Originals.
There’s a reason Angela is Brennan’s BFF
Once again Angela proves why she knows Brennan better than almost anyone else. While everyone else is getting excited over Brennan’s growing Twitter prescence, her BFF realizes why she may want to be cautious entering the online world as well.
Booth hates spiders
Ok maybe hate is too strong of a word, but he’s definitely not a fan. Count Aubrey against the eight legged freaks as well. Poor Hodgins gets so excited over a spider this week only to have both Booth and Aubrey quickly rain on his parade.
How do you think Brennan fares on Twitter? Would you follow her? Are you excited that Bones is back? What are you most excited about for the second half of the season? Sound off in the comments below.
Bones airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox and Global.
