It’s hard to fight off your enemies when you’re facing trouble within your own ranks. That’s what the Widow (Emily Beecham) will find out on this Sunday’s episode of Into the Badlands, airing at 10 p.m. ET on AMC. After giving Castor (Dean-Charles Chapman) back to Pilgrim (Babou Ceesay) to prove she’s not his enemy, the Widow has her hands pretty full in this week’s “Dragonfly’s Last Dance,” written by LaToya Morgan and directed by Paco Cabezas.
Elsewhere, Sunny (Daniel Wu) works with the River King to secure passage to Pilgrim’s Fortress. Pilgrim will be in mourning this week as well because after Castor was returned to him, he ended up killing the boy and ending his suffering himself. In order to help tide you over while you wait for Sunday’s new episode, we were able to screen it early and are dropping a few hints about what else is to come on Into the Badlands.
Waiting is not an option
When the Widow willingly gave Castor back to Pilgrim last week she said it was because she first needed to defeat Baron Chau (Eleanor Matsuura). The Widow wants to waste no time this week in activating her plan of getting to Chau, overtaking her and thus, using her forces to defeat Pilgrim. Not everyone in her inner circle may agree with that decision, but she doesn’t seem to mind.
An attack from within
As we just stated, not everyone is so on board with the Widow’s plans to take down Chau. Some, despite their conflicting opinions, will choose to soldier on and do as they are told, while others may take to a more forceful approach in making their opinions known. One thing is for sure, there’s dissent in the Widow’s ranks and she better look out!
A King’s insight
Sunny is forced to work with the River King that we met at the end of last week. He ends up finding out that the River King knows a thing or two about Pilgrim, and it’s information that he shares with Sunny. He’s also got some advice on how he thinks Sunny should proceed.
History of a boat
Remember last week when Sunny saw that etching on Lily’s boat and remembered making it as a young child? Well, Sunny wants to know more about what that symbol he carved means. To get that info, he inquires about the history of the boat because Lily may not have been its sole owner.
A proper goodbye
Castor sacrificed a lot for Pilgrim, including his own life. We’re still a bit in shock that Pilgrim ended that life with his own bare hands, but at least he’s making sure that Castor gets a proper goodbye this week. After all, it seems like the least he can do for the boy, right?
In or out?
Once the Widow comes under attack from within, she’s going to need some help in order to get her out of the situation. Doing that may mean that some unlikely allies have to team up in order to help the Baron out of her current predicament. Will they be willing to move forward and work together for her?
