Ever since she finally stood up for herself at the end of last season, Into the Badlands fans have been eagerly anticipating Tilda’s (Ally Ioannides) inevitable confrontation with the Widow (Emily Beecham). This week viewers will indeed see what happens when they collide in “Leopard Snares Rabbit,” airing Sunday, May 6 at 10 p.m. ET on AMC. Elsewhere, Sunny (Daniel Wu) and Bajie (Nick Frost) are forced to go undercover on the Widow’s frontlines in order to find a possible cure for little Henry.
The TV Junkies had the opportunity to screen the episode, written by Michael Taylor and directed by Toa Fraser, a bit early. To help tide eager viewers over we thought we’d drop a few hints about what they can expect. As always, we’re hate spoilers, so these are just a few teases to help whet your appetite and make you even more eager for Sunday night to arrive.
Old vs. New
Ever since leaving her post as Regent for The Widow, Tilda has been doing just fine as The Iron Rabbit, hiding out and even stealing from her old boss. However, this week that may come to an end as she’s forced to confront the Widow’s new Regent, Nathaniel Moon (Sherman Augustus). In a showdown of old versus new, who will come out on top?
In the name of love
When Tilda left the Widow she took her girlfriend Odessa (Maddison Jaizani) along with her and together they’ve been training new Rabbit fighters. When Moon confronts Tilda, viewers will get the chance to see that Odessa’s feelings for her are very much real and that she’s willing to stand up for and try to protect the woman she loves.
Blue is your color
Since Sunny learned that Henry has the gift, he now needs to make his way to Vulture’s Peak to see Ankara the Mad Witch. In order to get there, Sunny and Bajie have to cut right through the front lines of the war and that means they’ll need a way to get past all of the Widow’s forces. How’s the old saying go? ‘If you can’t beat them, join them!’ It looks like Sunny and Bajie may be forced to go undercover to be able to continue on with their journey and that means wearing the Widow’s color, but does that also include helping out her troops?
Part of Sunny and Bajie’s treacherous journey takes them right into the infamous “Sniper Alley.” As evident in the promo for this week’s episode, it’s an insanely dangerous alley with “one way in, one way out.” Many have tried to make their way through the Alley, protected by Chau’s archers, but no matter what approach they’ve taken, they all failed. Will Sunny once again be successful where others have not?
It’s just a phase!
Tilda is doing a lot of work against the woman she used to call “mother” this season. Could all of this simply be chalked up to normal teenage rebellion? Maybe this whole Iron Rabbit stuff is “just a phase” that Tilda is going through? Taking down conveys and taking out the Widow’s men has definitely done one thing: it’s made the Widow sit up and take notice. She certainly looks to do something about the Iron Rabbit this week, even if this is simply a case of a young girl trying to get at her “mother”.
When we last saw Lydia (Orla Brady), the Widow had a offered her a pretty sweet deal: hand over the Iron Rabbit and she’d put Lydia at Quinn’s old fort as a viceroy. We’ll see whether or not Lydia decided to take her up on that offer this week, and how will her former relationship with Moon play into things?

Into the Badlands airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on AMC.
