Degrassi: The Next Generation is a mainstay in Canadian television. The series about high schoolers in Toronto has survived through 15 seasons, multiple network changes, and even cancellation (resulting in an eventual jump to Netflix in the US).

Much like the Law & Order franchise is the jumping-off point for nearly every struggling American actor, Degrassi, with its huge cast of recurring and guest roles, similarly attracts Canadian actors at the beginning of their careers. This Friday (June 22), the sixteenth season of the latest incarnation of the show is debuting on Netflix and will premiere Tuesday at 9:45 p.m. on the Family Channel in Canada.

In honor of the premiere, we’re taking a look back at a few of our favorite Canadian stars who had earlier blink-and-you-miss-it roles on the beloved teen drama series.

Did you forget any of these Degrassi alums? Who did we miss? Who were your favorites? Sound off in the comments below!

Degrassi airs Tuesdays at 9:45 p.m. on the Family Channel in Canada and streams on Netflix in the US.
