5 Couples in need of mistletoe

Well Christmas has come early for those NCIS:LA fans who have long awaited some action on the Deeks and Kensi (a.k.a. Densi) front. After dancing around each other for over five seasons, (not to mention countless interruptions and the use of way too many metaphors instead of actually talking about feelings), these partners finally laid all their cards on the table and kissed Monday night.

Yes, despite complications that are sure to arise given their line of work, Deeks and Kensi finally seem ready to take the next step in their relationship. As Kensi told her partner that she wanted to “be bold” and Deeks vowed there would be “no more games,” the Hallelujah chorus started playing in the minds of NCIS:LA fans everywhere as these partners went “all in” and finally shared one heck of a kiss:

We here at The TV Junkies were so excited about Densi that it got us thinking of some of our other favourite almost-couples out there in TV land that could use a little mistletoe this holiday season to help move things along. While some of these couples may have already kissed or hooked up in the past, they all are currently in need of a little lovin’ and help to get them to back a happy place.

Oliver and Felicity – Arrow

We’re not even going to talk about the major complication facing these two at the moment, because if you saw the Arrow midseason finale then you know exactly what we’re talking about. While Oliver may have expressed his love for Felicity, he’s also made it perfectly clear that because of his duties as the Arrow he can’t be involved personally with anyone at the moment. While Felicity would certainly prefer if he changed his mind, we can’t blame her for moving on at the moment with Ray Palmer. We’re hoping that the new year will cause Oliver to reevaluate those feelings and once again give us moments such as this one:

Lindsay and Halstead – Chicago PD

If there’s a silver lining to Det. Erin Lindsay’s decision to leave the Intelligence Unit on Chicago PD, in favour of joining that DEA task force, it’s that now we may finally see some action on the Linstead front! Lindsay and her partner, Det. Jay Halstead, have always been attracted to each other–coming close to hooking up in the past–but a personal relationship has always been deemed strictly off limits by their boss, Sgt. Hank Voight. Now that Lindsay is no longer a member of the unit, we’re thinking that lines won’t have to be crossed and there may be an opening for these two to become more than partners. What do you say to some games of Scrabble in the new year Linstead?

Elena and Damon – The Vampire Diaries

These two are no strangers to being romantically involved, and you may wonder what they are doing on this list, but ever since the Season 5 finale that saw Damon die, things have become more than a little complicated for these two vampires. After Damon’s death, Elena couldn’t bear to live with the memories of her lover any longer and had Alaric erase every good memory she ever had of Damon. In keeping true to form on The Vampire Diaries, Damon was brought back from “the dead” and he and Elena have been falling in love all over again ever since. But things are never that easy when it comes to Delena, and the midseason finale saw Elena being kidnapped by Kai in order to hit Damon where it’ll hurt him the most. Here’s hoping Damon can rescue Elena and we’ll get some more moments like this in the near future:

Bellamy and Clarke – The 100

While romance is often the last thing on the minds of the characters on The 100, we can’t help but become emotionally attached to Bellamy and Clarke, aka Bellarke. Whenever Eliza Taylor and Bob Morley are on screen together the chemistry is palpable between the two leaders as they debate what’s the next best move for their people against the Grounders and Mountain Men. They are quite the unlikely pair, but can’t help but be drawn to each other. Yes, when The 100 first began, and Bellamy seemed like nothing more than your standard heartless thug, it would’ve been difficult to imagine a scenario where we would come to love him as much as we now do. We don’t know about you, but this Bellarke reunion hug spoke volumes for us:

Alicia and Finn – The Good Wife

After The Good Wife shocked everyone with what happened to Will Gardner (we’re still not ready to talk about that), we never thought we’d want to see Alicia Florrick involved with anyone else romantically. I mean wasn’t Will her one true love? With him out of the picture we couldn’t possibly envision her with anyone else, right? Wrong. Enter former Assistant State’s Attorney Finn Polmar and count us as the many delightfully surprised fans by Matthew Goode performance. Now, he is well on his way to becoming a more than viable option for our beloved Mrs. Florrick. The chemistry and heat between these two just oozes off the screen and if moments like the one below keep happening it seems like they won’t need mistletoe, since a hookup is definitely in their future:
