Buckle up Earpers because Season 2 of Wynonna Earp looks to be one hell of a ride! Fans got their first look at some new footage from the supernatural thriller’s upcoming second season when a new trailer dropped Saturday afternoon. The new trailer coincided with a panel featuring Tim Rozon (Doc Holliday), Kate Drummond (Agent Lucado) and writer Alexandra Zarowny that was held at WonderCon in Anaheim, CA.
While the trailer is only a little over 90 seconds long, it was plenty of time to get us even more excited about Season 2 (if that was even possible!). Thankfully, Season 1 just dropped on Netflix in the US and is coming to Space Channel in Canada on April 15. Things went pretty fast through that trailer, but we know if you’re anything like us then you were pausing and rewinding over and over to make sure you caught every little moment. In combing over the footage we had a couple of big takeaways about what lies ahead.
But first up, let’s watch that trailer one more time, you know for science!
More Dark Waverly
Looks like we’ll definitely be seeing the effects of Waverly touching that goo at the end of Season 1. We don’t know the extent of those effects, but it’s clear Dominique Provost-Chalkley will be getting her chance to channel some evil Waverly in Season 2.
While Wynonna is used to dealing with the Earp Curse, it looks like there may be a second one in Season 2. Does this have anything to do with Waverly going dark? Or is there a whole other battle entirely for Wynonna and Company? Waverly mutters something at the end of the trailer about “one felt like many” and talk of a legion, is that the curse Wynonna speaks of or another battle entirely?
Dolls’ Lizard Eyes Return
While Emily Andras answered a lot of the questions raised in Season 1, one thing we never got any closure on is what exactly is going on with Dolls and those lizard eyes? From the trailer we can see that he’s still dealing with this “condition” in Season 2 and maybe it’s just that Shamier Anderson looks even more fit than usual, but we’re feeling a little bit scared of Xavier!
Earp Sisters Gettin’ Things Done
Whether or not Waverly is evil, it looks like the Earp sisters are still working together to take down the bad guys and that’s something that makes us here at The TV Junkies very happy! The sisters’ relationship has always been the true romance of the show and we are all in for these demon-hunting ladies kicking butt together in Season 2!
Wayhaught is still going strong!
No worries Wayhaught fans, your favorite couple still seems to be going strong in Season 2, as evidenced by a pretty intense kiss!
Waverly dresses up as a cheerleader!
We’re not really sure what’s happening in this brief scene of Waverly dressed as a cheerleader, so we’ll just let this speak for itself.
Wynonna and Doc getting close?
Wynonna and Doc got up close and personal on more than one occasion in Season 1 and may be again from the looks of things in the trailer. There’s a moment in the trailer where no clothes are involved and we’re curious if that leads to more clothes-less moments between the pair in Season 2?
An Orphan Black crossover?
OK so we don’t think there’s an Orphan Black crossover happening, but we did spot Clone Club’s Kevin Hanchard in a brief scene with Kate Drummond’s Agent Lucado. Could he be causing problems for Dolls?
It may be a new year and times are changing, but some things do in fact stay the same. Take Wynonna Earp and donuts for instance. That trailer proved that Wynonna is still the donut eating hero we all want and need and that’s not changing any time soon! Thank goodness!
